Acrylic, circa 2015
I was hoping to find some stag deer horns for reference for a new painting I had in mind. I was returning home to my studio that day, I live on a protected nature sanctuary on the West Coast of Canada, when a turkey vulture dropped freshly cleaned horns from a deer. I could not believe the coincidence. I guess this painting was meant to be... Symbolism: grace and determination, deer horns are a great means of asserting oneself, while gentle at the same time.
