The Wild Life – Solo Art Show Opening in Edmonton

Edmonton, Alberta – The Wild Life invites viewers on a journey through the untamed beauty of Canada and the creative spirit that captures it. This new solo exhibition by Canadian artist Brandy Saturley explores three facets of “wild life”: the iconic wildlife that symbolizes our nation, the rugged and vast Canadian landscape, and the artist’s own adventurous path creating across the country.

From polar bears to elk, mountain ranges to ocean shores, each of the 15 original acrylic paintings reveals a profound connection to place and experience. Together, they form a vivid portrait of discovery, identity, and the wild spirit that defines Canada. Among the works is a recent commission for legendary Canadian rock band The Tragically Hip – based on their song, ‘Gift Shop’, a highlight not to be missed.

The Wild Life opens November 13th at The Miller Art Gallery in Edmonton, with an opening night celebration where the artist will be in attendance. The exhibition runs through December 21, 2025.

Founded in 2022 by Theatre Network, The Miller Art Gallery was established to expand the cultural reach of The Roxy Theatre and to celebrate excellence in Canadian contemporary art under the curatorial direction of Jared Tabler. As the home of the Peck Visual Arts Program, the gallery champions Canadian artists and fosters a vibrant creative community – one that welcomes audiences to connect through art and see the world in new ways.

The Wild Life marks Saturley’s second solo exhibition of 2025, following her acclaimed show at the James Baird Gallery in Newfoundland earlier this year. It also follows the release of her first art book, a comprehensive look at two decades of painting Canada’s stories through her distinctive pop modernist lens.
