Canadian Artist Brandy Saturley brings fine art to the streets in Sidney, BC
Over the past decade the Town of Sidney, on Vancouver Island has licensed fine art for application to their numerous utilities boxes around the village. Victoria born artist, Brandy Saturley has licensed four of her Canadian landscape paintings to Sidney, to help beautify these grey metal structures. Featuring paintings from early in her career depicting; sailboats, the salish sea, wildlife and summer footwear. Another way to beautify the city and create interest. The colour reproductions of the BC artists’ celebrated paintings, are larger than life and bring fine art to an audience who might not engage regularly with fine art. The Canadian artist has worked hard to bridge the gap between the art world and the general public. These wrapped public structures offer an accessible way to show some of her more mainstream paintings. Next time you visit Sidney, take an art walk and enjoy the art on the streets and the galleries in between.
